Version 0.14 Update: Single-line Text Controls
2 years ago
Another update has shipped with another exciting new feature for Vectr beta version 0.14!
During the past two weeks we spent most of our time deep in some big new features which aren’t quite ready to ship, so this update’ll seem a bit shorter than normal, but rest assured that the big features we’ve been working on behind the scenes are on the way!
Single-line Text Controls
We’ve added single-line text controls to help you easily resize your single-line text! When you select single-line text, you’ll see a round resizing handle on the bottom of the grey editing box. Simply click and drag this handle to resize your text.
Note: Single-line text is boundless, which means it can expand horizontally without an end in sight. Paragraph text, on the other hand, has bounds. If you wanted to change single-line text to paragraph text, you could click a point on either sides of the text box to resize the bounds. Learn more about text controls in the User Guide.
OS X App Version 0.1.9
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve finally received our Developer ID from Apple! To celebrate, we released version 0.1.9. Before we received our Developer ID, we were labeled as an unknown developer, so Gatekeeper would block our app from being installed by OS X Vectr users. But the day has come where we’ve been granted a unique Developer ID. Now OS X Vectr users can download our app without being Gate-blocked. We’ve leveled up our accessibility by a few points here, and we’re excited by the progress!
Behind the Scenes
Like we said, we were working on quite a bit behind the scenes the last two weeks - allow us to fill you in on a bit of that!
We’ve gotten a big chunk of work done on layers, and we hope to finish up the first version and ship this within a few weeks. Curve editing is also well on the way, with about half the work for accomplishing a first version of curve editing being finished up over the past two weeks as well.
We know that some of you have had some problems with Vectr in older browsers, so we’ve put a browser testing infrastructure in place to help us solve those issues. You can look forward to a more consistent experience with Vectr soon, in any browser (Firefox users, you’ve got our full attention).
If you haven’t already, check out our last Version 012 & 0.13 update. We still have many features/functions coming soon - our roadmap can fill you in on those. Also, don’t forget to drop us a line to give us any feedback and suggestions. Until next time, stay classy, Vectr users.
