Version 0.9 Updates: Major Bugfixes
Over the past two weeks, while shipping Version 0.9 of Vectr, we had to pull ourselves off all other tasks to come together and tackle some pretty heavy bugs. We had one bug which prevented some user’s files from showing up correctly in their profile page, which proved a very difficult bug to solve.
But the whole team jumped on the issue, and we believe everyone’s files should now be loading correctly.
Through the experience we’ve realized that we’d like to bring a Senior Dev Ops engineer onto the team - if you or someone you know might be interested, you can find more info here: https://vectr.com/jobs.
Despite tackling this and other troublesome bugs over the past two weeks, we’ve still got some updates for you!
After you’ve drawn an open path, you can now extend that path later by selecting one of the path’s endpoints, and continuing to draw.
To extend a path that you’ve drawn, first double-click the path (double clicking will make each of that path’s points selectable). Then to extend the path, select one of the path’s endpoints and continue to draw the path as normal.
Vectr’s guides will now show common spacing/distance between two objects. In the example below, you can see that when the common spacing guides kick in, we’ve got 61px between each of these rectangles.
We’ve still got a good deal of work to do on common spacing, it’s buggier than we would like and we’ve got to work on reducing the signal/noise ratio, but you can expect this to be cleaned up and hopefully bug free over the coming weeks ;)
Besides the above, we closed a little over fifteen bugs over the past two weeks, and a handful of these were some of the toughest we’ve yet encountered, so we’re happy to have gotten them sorted out ;)
If you haven’t already, you can read all about the last Version 0.8 update - it included radial gradients and sizing guides. Feel free to drop us a line if you have any suggestions or feedback. We’re always happy to hear from you.
